Emma Rivera grew up in New York City and graduated from Purchase College, where she studied and earned her degree in visual arts. After graduation she began working in graphic design, web design and photography.
From an early age, Emma developed an appreciation for movement and physical activity through dance classes, running and weight training. Looking for a form of movement and physical training that would inspire her differently, she walked into re:AB as a client for the first time in 2003. Working with Brooke Siler and several other teachers and guest teachers at re:AB, she found the mind-body connection and the physical challenge she'd been looking for.
Emma fell in love with the fluidity, precision and clean graceful lines of Pilates while experiencing changes in her body's strength and posture, and when Brooke offered her own teacher certification program, Emma embraced the opportunity to make the Pilates method a lasting and regular part of her life.
